I go weak for local, organic, sustainable, farm-to-table food. Stuff that tastes like it was made by your Auntie before all of the food-industrialization-thing happened (don’t get me started on that topic!)
So, whenever I get a chance – I stop by Auntie Em’s for lunch. Here is my husband’s vegetable quiche with curried pumpkin soup. Yum! I had a wonderful vegetable torta sandwich but the picture was horrible so you’ll just have to use your imaginations!
We sat at a lovely table outside. Have I mentioned that I am partial to oilcloth tablecloths? Oilcloth anything?
Here was our dessert. Caramel pecan bread pudding. It was warm and it jiggled. I do not usually eat dessert. I can sit across the table and watch my husband eat the whole thing. Well, I usually have just one bite. But, this smelled so wonderful and looked so inviting, that I had, well a few more than just one bite!
When you’re done eating at Auntie Em’s, you can stroll inside to see if there is anything yummy you want to take home – from beautifully homemade baked items, to luscious cheeses, to yummy cookbooks, knick-knacks and treats. I love Auntie Em’s!
